Motion.page

Brings advanced timeline-based animations to your Wordpress-site

Lab status:

Tested

More advanced visual storytelling calls for more advanced animations than standard WordPress and CSS can deliver. Many developers will suggest the Javascript-based GSAP as the next natural step, but usually it would require coding-skills to implement. Well, not anymore.

Motion.page offers a visuel interface for utilizing GSAP on anything build in WordPress. Including Gutenberg.

It is not for everyone and not for every project. But for investigations that deserve that extra touch and time, this is en excellent solution. Expect a learning curve though.

Key features:

  • Animate anything with (almost) anything: opacity, translate, scale, rotation, 3D transform, skew, dimension, background position, background color, text color, border color, filter and more.
  • Timeline based animations
  • Scroll triggered animations
  • Locked to scrollbar animations
  • Image sequence
  • Animate Lottie
  • Animate vector
  • MotionPath animations
  • Split text animations
  • Stagger animations

See an example here where features such as “pinned element” and “image sequence” are utilized and here where also vector paths are being used.
